Thursday, 14 November 2013

Hello everyone!

We have been having an amazing time back at school and really enjoyed hearing all about the children's half term break.  They wrote some fantastic diary entries and some interesting stories were revealed during our class interviews.

Thank you to all those who have brought Julia Donaldson books in.  They have been incredibly useful and our hot-seating activities were off the scale!  Julia Donaldson is a fantastic author with engaging stories and this inspires the children to use exciting vocabulary in their own writing.

The children have been really interested in learning about the first hot air balloon flight by the Montgolfier brothers and have been eagerly creating their own hot air balloons.  These should be on display soon, so do come and take a peek.  We have an exciting science experiment coming up soon, proving that hot air rises.

In Maths we have been learning about various strategies for adding and counting on.  We are moving onto telling the time.  It would be wonderful for you to talk about the times of your daily routines as they happen as we will be discussing this in class, e.g. meal times, bed times, morning schedule etc.
