Straw, Sticks or Bricks?!

Another fantastic week in Year 1 world!

Our Brilliant Buildings topic is well underway.  We read the story of The Three Little Pigs and this has spring boarded many questions and activities involving suitable building materials.

Odds and Evens work continued and we are getting quite quick at them now!  This week we have continued with problem solving and puzzles.  During forest schools we started looking at signs of Spring, and we have been learning to use speech bubbles in our work.

Our week culminated with a fantastic trip to the fascinating Tudor home, Strangers' Hall, where we enjoyed the breathtaking architecture as well as various workshops and activities about Toys in The Past.

Highlights next week are our Spring Science Walk and fantasy bedroom designing!  We also have sequence work in Maths and using speech in English to look forward to.

Date for your diary:

Tuesday, 18th March - House Swimming Event.
Please ensure your child has their swimming kit in school on Tuesday, and for their usual swimming lesson day (1AP on Wednesdays, 1BB on Thursdays).  Unfortunately due to limited space, parents are not invited to attend this event.
A few photographs of random things like meeting the Norfolk Gritter that Millie in Year 2 got to name Chittygritty and the day Finlay and his guitar teacher performed for the class.
