Forest Schools fun!

The children all love Forest Schools, particularly this week as they were talking about bats and moths and playing senses games. They learned about nocturnal animals and can explain what this means.

Children In Need

Year 1 had both Miss Leggett and I in tears on Friday, during curious minds... our children truly do have such caring hearts and were genuinely concerned about children less fortunate than themselves.  They were suggesting the most touching of ideas; making colouring-in books with dot-to-dots in,  dolls houses, light sabres, jigsaws, joke books, jack in the boxes and all sorts of other wonderful toys- even a scooter! We shall continue in the same vein of thinking next week, when we will wrap them all up and write special messages to children who need them.
Although, with their fantastic ideas, we may well do a lot more than simply that!

Please remember to bring your nativity costume in this Friday, named please and  on a named hanger if possible.

Also, if you could please rehearse your child's nativity lines and cues with them.

I am running an art competition at school, in the hope that a little person will design the cover of this year's nativity, 'A Midwife Crisis'.  There are no rules, any sort of art work on an a4 sheet will do.  I haven't had too many entries as yet, and would be so very proud if it was won by a Year 1! The deadline is this Friday.

You should have your child's photograph card in their bookbag.  They all smiled so sweetly, I do hope their pictures are just wonderful!

Walk this way...

I hope you have all had a fantastic weekend, and enjoyed the fireworks from wherever you were! If you have any fun pictures of Year 1s, please email them through so that I can pop them on our blog!

I do hope that your son/daughter rattled off our 'Remember Remember' poem, they seemed to be rather good at it by the weekend!

Today we had our Pedestrian Training Course, and what a fantastic time the children had! A big thank you to Simone, and of course the wonderful mummies who made this possible by joining us.

Pictures to follow shortly.

Coming up this week:
Wed, 11th Nov- Remembrance Day
Thurs, 12th Nov- Individual photos and Divali activity afternoon
Fri, 13th Nov- Superhero fancy dress for Children In Need.

And please remember to sign up for our parent consultations, this Thursday and Friday. If you are popping in to see specialist teachers in the assembly hall, might I suggest the Friday consultations, as Superhero teachers should prove far more entertaining!😜

Here are some snaps of our wonderul Year 1s working on their understanding of 1 more, 1 less in building the hundred square.

We had a guest reader!

If anyone happens to find the 'wanted' face...

So many reasons to be thankful...

Wow, what a send off.  Thank you to the wonderful Mrs Berry-Smith for such a treat today! The children blew us away with their outstanding performing, particularly the little stars in Year 1 who opened the festival with such energy and pizzazz! We are all so proud of you.
Happy harvest festival to everyone.

To quote Langley Prep:
What an amazing world we live in
What an amazing life we have
So many good things we've been given
So many reasons to be glad!

We all missed you Theo... hope you are feeling much better.

Have the best half term super Year Ones!! Enjoy getting those scarves and gloves out for all the Autumnal walks, and of course playing with the Autumn leaves.  Come back refreshed and ready for another action-packed half term!
It all got a little 'wild'!

Thank you to these two lovelies who not only organised the barn dance, but were stationed behind the bar for most it.

Cutting the ribbon to officially open our special playground, Berry.

The Year Ones were as good as gold during the other children's items. Proud teacher!
Henry made a funny straw face on the floor, who know straw was so much fun!?!

Thank you to everyone who joined us, such a fun evening.  We really do have the BEST school!
