It’s a long way to Tipperary…

February marks the start of National Storytellers Week, and with that in mind, Year 1 have been storytelling about their journeys – factual and fictional!

Christopher told us all about his journey to France. He got to ride on a donkey!

Romily adventured to a jungle far away and sneakily brought a monkey back from the jungle.

Carolina told us about her trip to Brazil and she had pictures of jaguars and all sorts of animals that you see in Brazil.

Cameron F. travelled to France.  He had a wonderful booklet about his holiday, full of pictures on the aeroplane and in the car in France.  He says the cars drive on the other side of the road!

Cameron R. told us about when she journeyed a long way on an aeroplane to Disneyland in North America.  Her mummy wrapped lots of presents up for her to open on the plane.  She saw Tinkerbell, the Magic Castle and many parades.

Maya went to Turkey on a plane – it took 4 hours to get there.  She said she kept asking: ‘Are we there yet?’ and everyone kept giggling.  She learnt to swim in Turkey. She met a friend called Daisy who was from Florida.

Freya went on a ride on her pony and even had a pony party.  She did a few jumps and says you have to lean back and tighten the reigns up, making sure you have your heels down so that you don’t fall off.

Cerys told us how to get to Disneyland.  She used 3 types of transport, a car, a coach and a boat.  She met a friend called Anya and had lots of wonderful photographs to show all her friends.

Connie went to France and swam in a scary swimming pool that was too deep to stand in.  She saw the Eiffel Tower and went to a French Restaurant for a little snack and she thinks they ordered their food in French! She also got lost in the railway station… we are so glad you found your way in the end, Connie!

Daisy went to Disneyland on a train and saw Ariel, Anna, Elsa, Belle and Snow White.  She went with her Mum and her favourite part was when she went on a ride under a tunnel and could see Anna and Elsa, and also Ariel in the water.

Sophia brought a necklace that she got in Barbados, where she swam with the turtles.  She stayed in a hotel and it was really hot.  They went on a plane for 8 hours.

Sophie went on a journey with Marfee Bear to see Peter Pan the cinema.  He ate all her popcorn.  They also watched the Muppets and Pocahontas together.DSCF1766DSCF1769DSCF1772DSCF1775DSCF1776DSCF1777

Bronwyn told us a story about her heart being frozen.  She said it felt like a thousand men were chopping the ice on her heart!
