Money Money Money!

The January Sales have found their way of taking over Year 1 as we have been very busy shopping at 'Toys R Beaumont' - our very own classroom shop, owned by none other than shopkeeper, Mr Beaumont!  The boys and girls are getting quite good at recognising the different coins and have certainly become good shoppers! 


Money 'Around the World' has kicked off our topic nicely.  Thank you for all of the wonderful 'Show & Tell' coins from other currencies - we have had all sorts... from Brazilian Real to Canadian Dollars.  It has been very interesting to hear all about the different items the children have bought too - so much discussion!

We have also looked at the water/snow cycle and I have been very impressed by the children's explanations and use of some tricky vocabulary.  We created some beautiful snowy artwork too.

A big well done to Cameron F. for yet another outstanding holiday diary.  You always amaze me with all the time you put into it and I know it will be something you will treasure with those fascinating memories, Cameron!


Also, we welcome a new face to Year 1, Christopher. The children have been very excited to meet our new friend; we look forward to getting to know you and your family.
