We went to the Poppy Line Express and we had fun. We saw Morgan the Railway Cat and he sang us a song. The steam train ride was amazing. We started our day with some activities. We felt things, tasted things and listened to sounds. We had to write down describing words on our clipboards, like so, fluffy, fizzy, rough, spongy, icy and crackly. The boys made up lots of fun words, we all loved it.
Next we had a tour of the station. After that we had to dress up in dressing up clothes for the story of Morgan the Cat. Connie was Mrs Sponge, Sophia was Mrs Penn, Bronwyn was one of the children. Cameron Roffey had to wave the flags and blow the whistle for the train to go. Poor Morgan couldn't go in the carriage with any of the characters... because 'cats can't travel on the railway track'. But then John was the train driver and he let Morgan go at the front of the train with him.
We went into the Lady's Waiting Room for our lunch. After lunch we had the story of Skimbleshanks the Railway Cat and we read some more poems about railways.
