Welcome back everybody, and a special welcome to the sunny weather!
We are in for a very busy term and are looking forward to so many things. We begin our topic with an RE week, in which we will explore and contrast Christianity and Judaism. The children have already been asking lots of questions... we look forward to Show and Tell this Friday, where hopefully we will be discussing even more religious celebrations. Please remember that Friday is also Parkinson's awareness day, and everybody will be wearing fun headgear. Connie made a fantastic 'twisty pipe-cleaner alice band creation' on Red Nose Day... a little idea for those who might be stuck? Possibly with your own fun 'twist'?!
We are collecting real leaves for our 'Tree of Thankfulness' and would love you to please join in with us by writing something you are thankful for on your own leaf. You could either send one into school for your child to hang on our tree or fill one out when your drop/ collect. The children would absolutely love you to join in, and there is no limit... it would be wonderful to see our tree flourish!
Our focus in Maths this week is addition. We were fortunate enough to be inspired by Carolina's visit to the circus, followed by Miss Loaker's rather good juggling skills! It seemed only right that we learn our very own TRICK! So here it is...
"When adding, you post the biggest number in your head, and then count on the smallest number".
We have all learned that simple trick - see if we can remember how to say it for you? Can we show you how to do it with numbers? Step 1 to mastering 'arith-magic'! :)
Remember to click on the Noticeboard section of our blog for full details about our Poet Tree topic...
Let's hope this beautiful blue sky is here all week!
